3. Fire Marshal
About Course
This course builds on the knowledge gained in the Fire Safety in the Workplace and Safe and proper use of Fire Extinguishers courses, taking your understanding a step further and preparing you for the important role of a Fire Marshal.
You’ll learn what is expected of a Fire Marshal within the workplace, including how to help prevent fires, support safe evacuation, and assist with managing fire safety arrangements day to day. We’ll explore the practical duties involved in the role, from carrying out simple fire safety inspections to understanding how people behave during an emergency.
The course also looks at the actions to take if you discover a fire, what to do when the fire alarm sounds, and how Fire Marshals help ensure everyone evacuates safely. You’ll gain an understanding of evacuation times and the relationship between how quickly people can escape and how long conditions in a building remain safe.
Finally, we’ll consider vulnerable occupants and different evacuation strategies that may be required to support them.
By the end of this course, you’ll have a clear understanding of the responsibilities of a Fire Marshal and the confidence to help maintain fire safety within your workplace.
